Australia’s apparel imports dip 7.5% in July 2026

Australia’s textile and apparel trade showed mixed trends during the first month of fiscal ****** (July–June). Apparel imports declined *.** per cent, while imports of textile yarn, fabrics and made-up articles eased by *.** per cent in July ****. However, fibre imports increased slightly during the period, according to the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) data.

Australia mainly exports cotton fibre, as it is one of the world’s major cotton-producing countries. It imports garments and other textile products to meet domestic demand.
