Bangladesh’s garment sector is entering its first minimum-wage review under a shortened three-year cycle, with unions seeking reconstitution of the Minimum Wage Board.
The last structure took effect in December 2023, pointing to a new one by December 2026 under the amended labour law.
RMG exports were US$39.35 billion in FY2024-25, up 8.84 per cent, with an 81.49 per cent share of total exports.
